What a big weekend!

Our school definitely enjoyed the benefits of having a local show. Our Year 5 and 6 students attended the show on Thursday. The purpose of their visit was education and a little bit of fun. Beaudesert State High School and our local Agriculture Industry ran many educational stalls. The students from across the district were invited to listen and learn about the varied agricultural pursuits in our area.

Another benefit of having a local show is that the students are able to showcase their work. Students from Prep to Year 6 entered craft, art, poems and handwriting to be judged and displayed. It was pleasing to see that St Mary’s students were quite successful in these endeavours.

St Mary’s also had two stalls at the show. The first stall was an information stall, and it was manned by staff over the two days. The purpose of this stall is to support the local Beaudesert Show Society, and it is also a great opportunity to share what we are doing with with the wider community.

The second stall was managed by Kelli, our tuckshop convenor and supported by parent volunteers. Our parent volunteers either baked goods for the stall or served behind the counter – some parents did both! We are grateful for the generosity of these parents. We even had a past parent come back to assist​. We raised over $1300.
